Sara Chana has worked with more than 12,000 breastfeeding and pregnant women over the past 25 years. She is also a Master Herbalist, Classical Homeopath and does TV segments for ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox news shows discussing breastfeeding and also how to integrate alternative medicine with conventional medicine. She has also guest lectured at Columbia and SUNY downstate medical schools teaching pediatric residents breastfeeding basics. Working in outreach, she lectures at early intervention and Head-Start sites. What should I eat to produce ‘good’ milk is a standard question we receive. I do believe ‘you are what you eat.’ I will discuss my observations and research on the breastfeeding mother’s diet.

Basic Latch: Get your clients OUT of pain

After 25 years of working with thousands of women I still believe that we can get 99% of women out of pain when we know how to approach the LATCH. Trained as a classical ballerina I learned about balance, coordination and timing. I will discuss ways to acertain the clients strengths and weaknesses to guide them to their own boutique ‘perfect latch.’

Too Much or Too Little Supply

Too much milk? Too little milk? This can be a very challenging topic for many breastfeeding professionals and this workshop will explore the alternative opinions for both conditions. Can herbs really help these conditions? Do we have enough clinical data? The answer is no but we do have cultural and clinical experiences. In this workshop we will learn ways to help our moms feel in control and successfully breastfeed.
