Most professionals have been taught about only a handful of the primitive reflexes that underlie motor planning in humans. In this presentation Dr. Hazelbaker discusses the long list of primitive reflexes and their influence on breastfeeding. The various reflexes are shown assisting the participant to recognize them in her or his clinical setting. Dr. Hazelbaker discusses the ways in which compromised reflexes interfere with breastfeeding and provides various methods to bring the reflex back to full emergence as a method for supporting optimal breastfeeding.
