Dr. Francis is entrenched with the most up-to-date data, as well as real situations in her lactation consultant practice. She is a professor, a researcher and a practitioner. It is nearly impossible not to be impacted by her passion and enthusiasm for the subject matter. Dr. Jimi Francis integrates her nutrition and lactation expertise to help educate on the best strategies for a positive impact on the health of baby and mom. Dr. Francis can tailor her presentation to your group's needs and level of knowledge.

Dr. Francis completed both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. She then went on to complete a doctoral degree in Nutrition at the University of California, Davis. She acts as a Letter-of-Appointment Research Faculty at the University of Nevada Department of Biochemistry, designing and implementing research projects, including epidemiological studies, translational research, pre-clinical, and clinical trials. Dr. Francis is an instructor, a lactation consultant and an advisor in relation to nutrition and lactation. Her students benefit from her 15 years experience as an instructor teaching general and specific principles of nutrition and health at all levels from pre-school to post-graduate. Dr. Francis also maintains a small private practice as a lactation and nutritional consultant. The mothers Dr. Francis works with benefit both from breastfeeding guidance and her in-depth understanding of womens’ and babies’ nutritional needs. As a clinical consultant to Simplisse, Dr. Jimi provides consultation services for various research projects, acting as the main point of contact between regulatory agencies and the research team. Dr. Francis also provides clinical insights on new product development, designed to improve quality of life for families and parents.Topics of particular interest to Dr. Francis are those involving the mother/infant dyad, preventive health care, and emergency pre-hospital care. In her leisure time Dr. Francis enjoys an active lifestyle that includes dancing, skiing, and sailing.
