About the Speaker

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree, Dr. Jimi Francis completed a Master of Science degree at the University of Nevada in Reno with a focus on infant nutrition. She then received a fellowship to complete a Doctoral degree with an emphasis in maternal/infant nutrition at the University of California in Davis. While attending UC Davis she also obtained graduate minors in human physiology and statistics.

Dr. Jimi currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Maternal, Infant, and Lactation Knowledge, a non-profit organization that supports and promotes research.

With over 25 years experience as an instructor, Dr. Jimi has instructed general and specific principles of nutrition, lactation, and breast physiology with all levels of audiences from pre-school to post-graduate. Dr. Jimi is a life-long learner and has recently completed her credential for Certified Clinical Research Professional.

Dr. Francis maintains a small private practice as a lactation and nutritional consultant.

Dr. Jimi has three grown children and four grandchildren. In her leisure time Dr. Jimi enjoys an active lifestyle with her family that includes dancing, skiing, sailing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
