About the Speaker
Glenda is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in antepartum, labor and delivery, all levels of neonatal care, lactation, and women’s health. She received a BSN from the University of Louisville, a MSN, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Old Dominion University and is in a PhD nursing program at the University of Louisville. She plans to do her dissertation on the experiences of Lactation Consultants. She has been an IBCLC since 1997. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville School of Nursing teaching the Childbearing Nursing course, Leadership and Management online course, and Community Health Nursing clinical. She advocates and promotes breastfeeding using various teaching methods. She is actively involved in breastfeeding advocacy. She is the President of Kentuckiana Lactation Improvement Coalition and a member of Lactation Improvement Network of Kentucky, AWHONN, USLCA, ILCA.
